Original gun spring scale for the Vickers (MAXIM) and Lewis machine guns.
Used by Gunners to set the return & fusee spring tension on the Vickers & LEWIS guns.
Made from Brass, string loops need to be added to hook around the charging handle.
Manufactured by George Salter and Co. Ltd., West Bromwich, England, and are marked with the interesting Salter logo.
The War Department Broad Arrow mark may also be present, although in some cases only partially.
May show some signs of wear, marring, grime, etc...
