They have a simple turn latch and a hinged steel lid that is not removable, these may be missing the canvas carry handle.
These veteran steel Soviet ERA ammunition cans are painted green and are designed to be used with 7.62X54R machine guns such as the PK series, SG series (Goryunov) and Maxims.
The cans have seen a lot of service use and some will need a bit of tinkering/attention to get straight.
Will show signs of surface rust, bends, dents, fraying, wear, marring, grime, etc...
